The Jam was a British rock band formed in 1972, known for blending punk rock energy with mod revival influences. Fronted by singer and guitarist Paul Weller, alongside bassist Bruce Foxton and drummer Rick Buckler, they became one of the defining acts of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Their music was characterized by sharp lyrics, socially conscious themes, and a blend of punk, new wave, and R&B. Hits like "Going Underground" and "Town Called Malice" reflected Weller's incisive songwriting. The band split in 1982, with Weller moving on to form The Style Council, leaving The Jam's legacy intact.
